SAFE & HEALTHY COMMUNITIES HAS IDENTIFIED FOUR AREAS OF NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY
The strength of Safe & Healthy Communities is the commitment of its volunteer committees who identify, create, and implement a coordinated approach to addressing community safety and reducing injuries. Each committee works independently, as part of the larger organization, to offer programs and services that met the specific needs of residents of the Assiniboia area.
The organization's four safety areas were identified with the direct involvement of the community during strategic planning events and feedback.

FALL
PROTECTION
Fall protection is critical to prevent life-threatening injuries on worksites, farms, and among our senior population. The Fall Protection Committee aims to provide key strategies and programs to our community members that can aid them in preventing avoidable falls and resulting injuries.
SCHOOL
PROGRAMS
The School Programs Committee addresses common safety concerns and hazards among school aged children and youth from poison prevention initiatives to activities for mental health and well-being. This committee includes the active involvement of local parents working to make our community safe for children of all ages.

ADDICTIONS
The Mental Health & Wellness Team consists of a variety of community members whose vision is to help create a society that embraces and invests in the mental health of all people.
SUPPORT SAFETY & INJURY PREVENTION
Safe & Healthy Communities is continuously seeking sources of sustainable funding to assist the organization's important work in safety and injury prevention. Community support allows the organization to continue improving our community. With your help, we can promote health and safety in the Assiniboia area, making it the 'safest place possible to live, learn, work and play.'
